In case you haven’t noticed, blogs have gained immense popularity in the past few years. Earlier it was the perception that blogging is for kids and for IT geeks who want to say something about themselves at midnight. But it is not seen in the same light now… oh no. Everybody is blogging these days from executive businesses to a famous actors. The purpose of blogging may be different for every person but the objective is the same; to keep in touch with your end customer.

Reasons why your businesses need a blog

I get asked this all the time! Originally the blogs were used in personal websites as opposed to the business website. This distinction has become blurred these days as lots of blogs are used for businesses. It is more so in case of WorldPress blog for companies. Many small businesses ask this question whether they need a blog. The answer is a definite yes, no matter how small or obscure the business is, blogging is still the way to go. It provides a conduit for you information as a subject matter expert. Remember, everyone wants to know if you’re the “real-deal”, what better way than to blog about subjects you most familiar with.

Anything and everything is sold over the internet these days, it is estimated that there are about over 20 million shoppers who look for buying anything from computers, books, real estate, high end automobiles and other unbelievable items. I never thought in a million years I’d buy my new stainless steel door lock online.

So, why after all these years does your businesses need a blog?

The object of blogging is to promote the growth of the business. It’s a service that generates trust and loyalty. Because of its interactive element and its ability to position small businesses as niche experts there are about 39 million blogs in existence and about 75,000+ blogs created every day. A business owner sometimes establishes blogs along with existing websites but company blogs can also be a substitute for the website. There are some general reasons why all businesses need a blog including:

  • A blog helps a business give a web presence that is more user friendly than say a standard website. It usually less expensive to create and maintain a blog than a regular CMS website and the best thing is that you can maintain a personal relationship with your customer.
  • A blog helps a Small Business Owner (SBO) in sharing the business as itself without any marketing droids.
  • It helps in establishing trust and binding relationships with the customer.
  • A corporate blog helps in reviewing industry specific information and any events, conferences.
  • Company blog is like an ongoing conversation shaped by the blogger as opposed to the static website newsletter that conveys one way conversation.
